FrequencyP 1.1 by Rod ----------------------------------------------------------------- Serial CTS digital frequency meter Measure the frequency on CTS serial pin, typically with a 1Hz - 3kHz range, higher on the faster Palms, with a prescaler you can get much more. From Counter form you can use it as an up-down counter. The precision is not high but enough for normal use Before the first measure your have to trim FrequencyP for your Palm, set the "Time Window" to 10ms, etc.., and "Calibrate" to have the right known frequency (e.g. 1 kHz) or, without a known signal, match the "Time Window" with the "Measured Time Window" Preferences: "Time Window": the time where the measure must be done (e.g. 100 ms); bigger values give a better precision but slow down the Palm "Calibrate": set the number of signal sampling (e.g. about 660 on 100ms Window, 6480 on 1000ms Window for Palm IIIxe) "Use Measured Time Window": compute frequency using the measured time Serial Ports: In Prefs insert the short (e.g. 0) or the expanded number (e.g. 32768) (0) 32768 Physical HotSync (RS-232 or USB). (1) 32769 IR port. (2) 32770 Debug console (RS-232 or USB). (3) 32771 RS-232 cradle. (4) 32772 USB cradle. (5) 1966289464 Cradle port using the 68328 UART. (6) 1966622042 Cradle port using the 68328EZ UART. (7) 1966486832 Specifies the IR port on the upgrade card. (8) 1651794800 Bluetooth Connection virtual. (9) 1769104237 IrDA IRComm protocol virtual. (10) 1919312749 Bluetooth RFCOMM virtual. Pay ATTENTION when you'll put the digital signal in the CTS pin or you'll fire the Palm DON'T do it if you are not an hardware expert ----------------------------------------------------------------- Installation: Just as usual; overwrite previous version. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Normal remove (preferred): Remove it from the palm launcher menu as any other application. Manual remove (expert only): Erase FrequencyP.prc Erase Saved and Unsaved preferences with Creator ID equal to FqnP ----------------------------------------------------------------- Version Info: 1.1 * added prescaler * added data save * added counter 1.0 * Start release ----------------------------------------------------------------- This software is released as freeware in the hope may be useful and enjoyable :-) Read the included license and warranty.
