Getdeblu 1.5 by Rod ----------------------------------------------------------------- This utility permits you to receice files in the expansion card, through Bluetooth, IrDA or HotSync discriminating them by the extension or the MIME type. Do not use dots or strange characters in the extensions. The directory separator is the / character From preferences you can set if the palm must ask you to accept the file. The file is transfered in the "HotSync directory" if present, otherwise the "Destination directory" is used; if both are empty the root directory is used. ATTENTION: users reports an hard reset on Tungsten T3, don't use on it; well, at least back up your data first ----------------------------------------------------------------- The fast way to use Getdeblu starting from zero: insert a * character pressing the Add button for both "Extension" and "MIME type", exit Getdeblu. Now any file you receive will be copied in the default "hotsync directory" or, if blank, in the root of the expansion card. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Detailed description and notes: Getdeblu stores the extensions of files you want to receive and the paths where you want them, you cau use the * character as Extension to let Getdeblu receive any kind of file. From Getdeblu Add the character * as both Extension and MIME type pressing the Add buttons; in this way Getdeblu will be the default receiving application for all kind of files. If you wish to receive only few specific kind of files Add only those file extensions without the dot (for example txt), one extension per any Addition, they will be shown in the top list. Usually you can ignore the "MIME type", its a standard, more complex way to indicate a file type; leave it blank or Add a * in the top list. MIME type examples: text/x-vCard is the Address Book vCards (vcf file extension) text/x-vCalendar is the Datebook vCalendars (vcs file extension) application/x-pilot and application/vnd.palm are the Launcher Palm OS databases (prc, pdb, oprc, and pqa file extensions) text/plain is the Memo Plain text (txt file extension) In the Preferences write a default "Destination directory"; for example I use /download/ because in my expansion card I've created a directory called "download". This is where received files go if you do not specify an "Hotsync direcory". You can leave it blank, in this case all the files will go to the root of the expansion card. The "Hotsync directory" is the destination path for a specific extension, you can leave it blank and use the "Destination directory" you set in the Preferences. The "Post receive application" is needed only if you wish to call a specific program after you get a file; the program must be in the main memory. The "Default application" list let you to choice other application that registered for that kind of extension (e.g. for "txt" you can have Notepad, Getdeblu, SiEd etc.) in this way the PamlOS with choice that application instead of Getdeblu. It is not required to have Getdeblu running to get the files, the PalmOS will call it as needed. To send the file from PC to Palm you have to follow the instrucions for the BT adapter you have in you PC; tipically you have in the bar a "rapid connection/file trasfer" (right mouse button) or from Explorer right mouse click in the file and choice "Send to Bluetooth". ----------------------------------------------------------------- Note1: Currently Getdeblu do not stores the "HotSync directory", it just registers it in the PalmOS. The default behaviour of PalmOS upon reset is to revert that directory to default, if you set it it's changed to default upon reset. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Note2: an annoying bug in the PalmOS crashes Getdeblu if you register an extension associated to a program that do not exist anymore in your Palm main memory. You must take at least one of these actions: - remove the orphan element from the Extension/"MIME type" lists and exit Getdeblu - remove the "unsaved preferences" associated to the removed program - link in RAM the application moved to card ----------------------------------------------------------------- Note3: some Windows PC bluetooth driver have a bug that hinibit the send of the file, if this is your same case to bypass the problem you have to: 1) from the bluetooth icon in the bar right click on "rapid connection" than "transfer file" than "your palm" or "other periferal"; you will get a "service not present" error, ignore it. 2) from Explorer right click in the file you wish to transfer, choice "Send to" than "Bluetooth" than "your palm" or "other periferal". The file will be transfered correctly. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Installation: Just overvrite previous version but remove alpha and beta versions first. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Normal remove (preferred): Remove it from the palm launcher menu as any other application. Manual remove: Erase Getdeblu.prc Erase Saved and Unsaved preferences with Creator ID equal to Gdbl ----------------------------------------------------------------- Version Info: 1.6 * Added Chinese translation by void.treo8 www.treo.net.cn 1.5 * Added Português translation by André Luís Mendes 1.4 * Added Deutch translation by Luca Bertoncello 1.3 * Added Italian and Spanish translations (Spanish one by espiralvex@gmail.com) 1.2 * Better file selection form * corrected a bug in the hotsync directory Set * corrected a bug in the confirm of file received 1.1 * Added "Post receive application" * Better exception management * Corrected wrong directory bug 1.0 * Start release ----------------------------------------------------------------- This software is released as freeware in the hope may be useful and enjoyable :-) Read the included license and warranty.
