Parlogio 1.6 by Rod This freeware palm program is a speaking clock, you can use the already present languages or create your own one. It's a speaking up/down counter too. It was developed for Palm Tungsten T but I expect should work on other Palms with audio support, email me successes and failures. The previous version wasn't compatible with the T3, I don't know if this version works, if you have a T3 and you want to test it backup your data first; email me the result. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Installation: Copy Parlogio.prc in the internal RAM memory or in the expansion card (this is the program) Copy Parlogio??.par in the expansion card /PALM/Launcher directory or copy Parlogio??.pdb in the internal RAM (this is the language file) (where ?? are two characters and/or numbers, usually 00) You don't need both .par and .pdb; they are equivalent and Parlogio let you to generate one from the other. The internal RAM on the Palm do not have a file system (i.e. a function that let you to store any kind of files) so you need the .pdb The expansion card has a file system and you can use the .par file From Parlogio configuration you can specify if it must use the RAM or the card language file The language file Parlogio??.par or Parlogio??.pdb can be freely downloaded from my web site (http://ausilio.altervista.org/) If your language is not present you can install Parlogio.prc and create Parlogio??.par by yourself (see ParlogioCreate.txt), only a little bit of patience needed ;-) Note: if you transfer Parlogio??.par from your PC to the card using the sync function, you will get an error due a limit of the palm system; you must first associate the .par extension to the /PALM/Launcher directory using the Palogio Configuration menu. Naturally you can transfer it in other ways: Getdeblu, IrDA, Bluetooth, direct card copy etc. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Remove (prefered): Use Palm launcher program remove. From card / directory remove: Parlogio??.txt and Parlogio??.wav From card /PALM/Launcher directory remove: Parlogio??.par Manual remove: Remove Saved and Unsaved preferences with Creator ID equal to 'ParL' From RAM remove: Parlogio.prc and Parlogio??.pdb From card / directory remove: Parlogio??.txt and Parlogio??.wav From card /PALM/Launcher directory remove: Parlogio??.par ----------------------------------------------------------------- Use: From Configuration menu set values as you wish. Associate it to a key or start it directly to speak data and time. Every time you start it the current time and data is spoken; it exits immediatly after. If you want to access the other functions you must press a key or the "Don't exit" button while it is running. Parlogio??.par is the language file (where the file index ?? usually is 00), it must be located in the /PALM/Launcher directory of the expansion card; you can associate the .par extension to that directory from Configuration menu to simplify the sync procedure or install it manually. Parlogio??.pdb is the same language file but for the Internal RAM, you can use it instead of the .par one. From Configuration menu you can copy the language file from Card to RAM and vice versa. Parlogio??.txt and Parlogio.wav are needed if you want to create your language file; they must be located in the root directory / of the expansion card, copy them manually there or see Configuration menu to associate the path for an easy sync. Create menu let you to test the pre language file created by you and generate the language file. Configuration menu let you change the volume, set a faster one second counter, associate the Parlogio files to the proper path in the expansion card, copy the language file from RAM to Card and vice versa. You can choice the file index ?? on Parlogio??.* to have different languages files INPORTANT: Read ParlogioEng.txt and ParlogioCreate.txt for details. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Auxiliary files needed only if you wish to build your own language file Parlogio??.par: Parlogio??.txt (edit it starting from the preformatted empty one) Parlogio??.wav (you must register and edit it in your PC) The working directory for these files is the root / on the expansion card. For a easier installation you can associate the .txt and .wav extensions to the root directory from Parlogio Configuration. Read ParlogioCreate.txt for instructions, only a little of patience needed. I've tried to write Parlogio general enough to let you to use almoust any language; but I don't know all the languages of this universe so the program could not be able to satisfy your language rules, sorry, email me. Email me if you find problems or you want to share with other people your experience, your language rules, etc. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Version Info: 1.6 * Corrected a bug in the sound engine 1.5 * Added "Current language" menu 1.4 * Added some animation 1.3 * New graphic interface * Corrected menu overwriting 1.2 * Added 12 hours time format and time only flags * Added language file indexing to have more language files * Corrected a bug in the Card to RAM copy * Corrected ParlogioCreate.txt documentation 1.1 * Added .par .txt and .wav directory association to simplify installation * Added internal RAM support * Added language file copy from RAM to Card and vice versa * Added volume control * Added faster one second counter * Added (p) Pause rule in milliseconds * Corrected a bug on Pause rule 1.0 * Start release * data/time speech * up/down counter * language creator * expansion card support ----------------------------------------------------------------- This software is released as freeware in the hope may be useful and enjoyable :-) All trademarks are own by the respective owners.
